Privacy
Let’s talk about cookies.
We don’t want our website infrastructure or providers we may use (such as donation platforms) to track you or use your data in ways you might not agree to.
To the best of our knowledge we have turned off this website’s internal tracking and analytics, and this website should not be placing any tracking cookies on your device. If it places any cookies, they would be only first-party “session cookies,” which are regarded as necessary for website function and which remain only temporarily.
Session cookies are first-party cookies, set by the website itself (the first-party domain). They do not involve third-party tracking or data sharing. They are considered strictly necessary cookies, used exclusively for the purpose of providing the service requested by the user without any tracking or profiling.
We avoid font-based tracking.
Google acts as a server for many open-source fonts used on web pages, and most of the time when your device loads a web page with Google fonts on it, Google receives and processes your device’s request to load that font and thereby receives information about your device (including the IP address, which can be used to identify your device) and website activity. This is not accomplished through cookies, so rejecting cookies doesn’t prevent it.
Avoiding use of Google fonts is not trivial, since Google continues to add preexisting quality fonts into its roster.
We use the Optimize My Google Fonts plugin to prevent font-based tracking.
Filling in our forms
If you sign up to receive updates, you thereby give us permission to record your submitted information in our database and to use them to send you updates. We may also use an email newsletter program to send you updates; we will only use services that maintain confidentiality and do not share or sell your data. You may unsubscribe at any time, through links at the bottom of the emails or by contacting us directly.
If you send us a message through our contact form, you thereby give us permission to retain the information you submit, and to contact you in reply (as well as for any follow-up correspondence). We will treat the message you send us as confidential; we will not share it without your express permission.
We will never sell your information. We would share it only with your express permission.
We use the WPForms plugin for our forms. These forms are hosted directly on our website, and submitted information is transmitted to us and not to outside parties.
Disclaimer: Data transmitted via the internet (e.g. by filling out our forms) could be subject to security breaches. While we use SSL to try to keep things secure, we cannot guarantee complete protection of your data from third-party access.
Bot protection on our forms
Our forms use Cloudflare’s Turnstile for protection from bot spamming. This system is subject to Cloudflare’s terms and conditions (which we believe are respectful of your privacy). Turnstile does not send traffic through Cloudflare. There is no font-based tracking through Cloudflare’s icon on our forms: Cloudflare’s Data Privacy Office says, “Cloudflare’s Turnstile solution does not load any external assets, including any icons or fonts hosted by third parties.”
