Meet at the Reed Homestead, 72 Main Street, Townsend, MA
All ages and abilities welcome!
Come out to learn about Indigenous histories and cultures of land stewardship. We will deepen our own relationships with the land by helping to restore a portion of the Harbor Pond ecosystem — we’ll remove invasive species and help foster beneficial plants! Then relax and keep enjoying community over a snack.

What to bring:
- Dress for the weather and for working outside!
- A water bottle
- A plate/bowl, cup, and spoon for snack
- You’re invited to bring tools for yourself and to share, if you have them – work/gardening gloves, shovels/trowels, clippers/loppers/pruning shears, weed pullers

This event is hosted by the Indigenous Landscape Initiative (In Land), in partnership with the Townsend Historical Society and Squannacook Greenways, the non-profit that built and maintains the Squannacook River Rail Trail. We are pleased to be collaborating with the Odanak Land & Environment Office of the Grand Council of the Waban-Aki Nation.
